As night sets in, theaters, clubs, and venues across Vermont come alive! This is the world of the Nightlife Arts, a vast and wonderful collective of performers, artists, and creators who transform our evenings into experiences of connection, wonder, and joy.
From the comedian testing new material under a single spotlight to the burlesque performer transforming audience and self via the art of the tease; from the musician sharing an original song that silences the room in reverence to the drag artist challenging norms and bringing energetic joy: this is where art lives and breathes. It’s the heartbeat of our nightlife landscape.
We are Nightlife Arts of Vermont, and we exist to uplift these artists and the stages they call home. A thriving nightlife scene is essential for entertainment and for our community. It’s where artists hone their craft and where audiences come together to share collectively, discovering a multitude of emotions and lasting impact.
Founded in 2025 as a nonprofit focused on uplifting these art forms and artists, Nightlife Arts of Vermont is dedicated to creating opportunities and growing our community, especially those who are often left out of the performing arts narrative and funding, making the industry more sustainable for these gig artists and the audiences that love them.
Classes & Training: Giving a burlesque artist the skills to command a room. Providing future drag performers with makeup skills. Teaching a producer about ethical production via a one-on-one. A workshop on cabaret-style dance. A history presentation on Vaudeville. We want to provide options both online and in classrooms. Have an idea for a class you'd like to teach? Submit it here.
Open Stages & Paid Opportunities: From open mics that offer a vital platform to experiment, to paid gigs that provide professional investment. We are here to help support every step of the journey, from first-time jitters to being a paid headliner.
Discounted Tickets: Ensuring that art is accessible to everyone, regardless of their means.
Shows and Events: Fueling the events that bring us all together in celebration and sometimes healing. We help produce shows with our performance collectives and with producers who share our vision and practices. Have an idea? Reach our Artistic Director here.
Shared Directories and Calendars: Find artists, venues, classes, and shows. Ensuring that our resources are combined helps us find artists to book, avoid overlapping productions, and ensure that audiences find performances and classes!
